Excessive Speaker Buzzing

What causes this?

My WinXP Home PC has: 17" LCD monitor, 2.1 Cambridge Soundworks
speaker system, Microsoft Wireless Desktop (keyboard/mouse). The two
little speakers sit directly to either side of my monitor; sub on the
floor. The keyboard, mouse, and their receiver are also close, each
being 6-9" away from the monitor.

Whenever I move my mouse, I hear a low buzz over my speakers. As I
open windows on the desktop, the amount of buzz increases and becomes
steady (not just mouse movement related). The more windows I open,
the louder the buzz becomes even if there is no mouse movement at all!

Obviously, all this stuff (LCD, wireless, speakers) is interacting,
but I'd like to understand why? I think I get that the wireless mouse
is creating RF that is being picked up and amplified by the speakers,
but what is with the buzz related to the number of windows open on the
LCD?

TIA if you respond.

If the sound is a low tone, you have power cycle hum getting into your
sound, probably via the wiring. Move the power cords away from the
speaker wires.

If you think the wireless keyboard is the source, try replacing it with
your old wired keyboard to check. You have to figure out where the
wireless interference is interacting. It is likely getting in through
the CPU unit, not directly into the speakers since they don't respond to
RF.

It could also be a badly shielded monitor interfering directly with the
speakers. Move the speakers away from the monitor to reduce the noise.
