Excessive shutdown time

Hi All,

I have a Windows 2000 SP3 build and it takes *forever*
to shut down and start up. It seems like one minute of
blank screen. Is there a way to change some timeout setting in
the registry?

I have a fixed IP; DNS and WINS settings, and when I work off-line
it seems to be worse.
