I have a client I recently upgraded from Win 98 to
Win XP Pro on a Dell Inspiron 7500 laptop.
In Win 98 he had Office 2000 Business Edition disks but
never fully installed the files beyond Word. Now he wants
to use Outlook instead of Outlook Express.
I installed Outlook from his Installation CD and it seemed
to install fine. However, when I try to open Outlook, it
attempts to create the Outlook folders then issues a
message saying it can't open his .ost file, which is
located where it's supposed to be. It also says he's got
to connect to an Exchange Server first, which he isn't
able to do because his system doesn't connect to any ES
system.
I've installed all the Office updates, which also seemed
to install OK but I still can't open Outlook.
The error message that's reported is:
Exception number: e06d7363
Can anyone out there help?
Thanks,
Steve Hamm
