I have some how created a situation where if I type in a cell a whole number
when I move out of that cell it automatically inserts decimal places,
typically 52 becomes 0.52. What have I done & how do i correct it?

This is now happening to all my excell documents so it must be something i
have done to the default settings of excell.

I have now solved the problem I had changed a setting inthe options menu to
Fixed decimal places.

Is there anyone who might also know how to format Excel cells so that long
account numbers are displayed as entered even if they begin with a zero and
the account number is 20 digits long?

Dickey:

Is there a way to format cells so that 20 digit account numbers display
fully as entered even if they begin with zeros?

Enter the number with an initial apostrophe (single quote) as in
'000123456789
This will format it was text - the apostrophe will not show in the cell on
on printout

best wishes
