When I try to import an excel file to assess when I get to the choice of
worksheet or range, I click on the range option and I get an error that the
mircosoft jet database could not find the object. The object list is the
excel sheet tab name. I see the other ranges listed but the sheet tab name
comes up first and gives me the error"could not find object" thanks for your
help in advance

hi,
when choosing the range option for import, you must have a
named range in the sheet. that is the object it cann't
find.excel and access consider these named ranges as a
table which is different from the entire sheet. In excel,
create a named range. high light an area then
Insert>name>define.
when you you click on range when you import, the name you
named the range will appear.
some times it is better to use a named range when linking
or importing because sometime access will pick up some
used space like a extra column that may have been there
before but was deleted and it ends up trying to import
empty columns or rows.
