excell setup

when i boot my PC and open an excell document, it opens a
window "windows installer" and install few things without
asking for any CD. then the document opens normally and
i can open and close excell without any more
installation. but when i shut the PC down and reboot it,
it does the same thing again.

i have windows XP pro, office 2001.

what is the reason for this?

Try these steps to see if you can isolate the problem--

If that doesn't work, try a repair installation of office/excel.
