I do not have excel on my computer and need to download it for work related
worksheets, where do I get it and how? I'm computer illiterit to a degree.
HELP! I downloaded a viewer but it won't let me edit and I have to edit.
thanks

Get your credit card out and visit your local computer store--or look for a site
that sells it online. MS doesn't give away free copies of excel (not counting
trial versions that expire after 30 or so days).

or depending on what your workbook uses:

Maybe a free spreadsheet program would work:
http://www.openoffice.org, a 60-65 meg download or a CD

or...

Google Docs offers a free online spreadsheet program (and a word processing
program) that may be able to open your file.
http://docs.google.com

Microsoft sells the Excel program, it is not available for a free download.

Older versions (current version is XL2007) can be purchased (inexpensively)
using the EBay auction site. Just be sure to get the original installations discs
and the "key code" necessary to install the program.
(counterfeit and stolen software should be avoided).

Most large office supply stores carry the new version of the Office/Excel program.
However, It has problems and will cost far more than a perfectly serviceable older version.
It probably would be best to buy the same version as that on your work computer.

Hi,

You must buy a copy of Microsoft Office Suite. Excel is not a independent
program, ite works in a collaboration. For example, the spell checker are
common for all application within the office suite. You just invoke the
services of the spell checker program across Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Rubbish. ALL the Office modules can be purchased as stand-alone programs....

If you can't afford the stand-alone version of Excel I would highly
recommend the free Open Office - in it's current release (2.2) it is easily
the equivalent of Excel 2002....

Thanks Gordon, I downloaded the 90 day trial version of "microsoft outlook"
and it's working fine for what i need, i'll buy it before the trial runs out,
just needed it immediately for work and so far it's been okay. Glad to know
i don't have to get "ALL" the programs also, thanx again for the info.
