Excel XP Template for Project XP

I'm trying to import Excel data to MS Project, but cannot locate the necessary Excel template to do this. The book MS Project XP Inside Out states to use Tasklist.xlt which is not located in my version of Office XP. Can't find it on MS site either.
Help, please!
 
Hi

not sure about tasklist.xlt (there's not a cd in the back of the book with
it on?) but project itself has an import wizard to help with bringing in
excel data - if choose file / open, change files of type to xls & find your
excel workbook the wizard will help you import it (i've got project 2003
here so i'm not exactly sure what it looks like in 2002 but i know its
there).

I have Project 2003 and Office 2002 and 2003.

One or more of these apps placed TASKLIST.XLT in my Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Templates\1033. My guess would be MS Project stuck it there.

Haven't used it, but when when opened in Excel, it has two worksheets, one of
which is a form for filling in Tasks.

Headings are as below.

ID Name Duration Start Deadline Resource Names Notes

The second worksheet is just an Info Page with a few notes.

Do a file seach for TASKLIST.XLT on your computer.

If can't find there or on the Inside Out CD post back and I'll send you a copy
by email. 18kb size.

You could easily devise your own Template if you wanted.
