Can a crescent wrench practically do what a hammer can? Better?

Excel is a spreadsheet, a very good one.

Access is a relational database. THEY ARE DIFFERENT. It is NOT a
"bigger" or a "better" spreadsheet, and trying to use it as if it were
one is like driving nails with a crescent wrench - yes, you can do it,
but it's the wrong tool!

It's very likely that a properly designed database will in fact
fulfill your business need as well as, or better than, a spreadsheet;
but you'll have to do a LOT of rebuilding and rethinking the logic of
the program.

I'm a heavy Excel user and have started using Access as well. Use them together as they both have very different qualities

One of the most useless things I have found so far is that Access can open a .DIF file which is greater than 65k records, I snip or filter where needed then export into Excel for analysis.
