Excel Stops Re-Calculating

We have a problem. We have a large template that we use
in developing Marketing Packgages for Commercial Real
Estate properties. The file has over 60 different
worksheet tabs in it. The file is set up to calculate
different things automatically.

Well, when you first open the file and use it and fill in
the numbers everything calculates like it should. But,
then after a while, things stop calculating. If I go to
the cell that should calculate and hit F2 to edit the
cell and then hit enter it will force the cell to
recalculate.

But if I hadn't noticed it not recalculating, then I
might print a package with incorrect information and look
stupid to a client.

Any suggestions?

Brian

I would goto to Tools>Options and click on the Calculation sheet and se
if the Automatic box is checked. If not then check this and it shoul
solve the problem

Hi Brian,

Check Tools, Options, Calculation has
- Calculation is set to automatic
- Iteration is NOT checked

If the status bar shows Calculate rather than Ready when you press F9 then
look at
http://www.decisionModels.com/calcsecretsf.htm

If the workbook contains any VBA code or uses User-Defined functions then
see
http://www.DecisionModels.com/calcsecretsj.htm
http://www.DecisionModels.com/calcsecretsh.htm

Try pressing F9 to see if the formula recalculates (Recalculate)

Try pressing Ctrl-Alt-F9 to see if the formula recalculate (Full Calculate)

If none of the above solve the problem then try pressing Ctrl-Alt-Shift-F9
using Excel 2002 or Excel 2003 (Full Calculate with Dependency Rebuild)

If this solves the problem then save the workbook and see if the savede
workbook is now OK with previous versions of Excel.

Check that your version of Excel has all current fixes and is up to date
(Help-About)

If none of the above solves the problem or sheds any light on it, then if
possible send me a zipped copy of the workbook (must be less than 5 MB
zipped) and I will look at it.

regards
Charles
