Hey,

When attempting to open my excel document by double
clicking from the my documents window the Excel does not
open. When I open Excel and attempt to open my saved
document on Excel it closes the program. Im not sure if
the program has become corrupt or another problem is
behind this? If it is corrupt is there anyway in which I
can restore it?

Thanks,

Robert.

Have you tried opening the file on another computer? If so, and the same thing
happens, it is a great possibility the file is corrupt and you may have to go to
a backup version of it.

If it opens on other computers, try the below steps to see what is causing your
problems

Do a little computer maintenance first, clean out your temp internet files,
delete all files in your temp directories -- may be several of them depending on
your OS (c:\windows\temp and c:\documents and settings\<your user name>\local
settings\temp
If there are any files within there that do not allow you to delete them, reboot
and then delete.

Open Excel, go to Tools Options General and make sure Ignore Other applicationa
is not checked.

What version Excel are you using? XP? 97? 2000?

After cleaning and rebooting, try opening the file again.
