This might have been asked in the past but I can not find a post about it. My
question is why is it when you click a command on the ribbon; for instance:

-Page Layout
-Then put a check mark in Gridlines and Headings to print it takes a while
to do. The circle just keeps circling. I try to change the width and height
and that takes it time. In other words it is very slow. I also have Office
2007 installed on my desktop with Windows XP and there are no issues. Its
click click click and your done.

The system I am having issues with is my new laptop. Very fast, to me
anyway, computer until I go to use Excel. OS is Vista 32-bit operating
system. It has the Intel Core Duo processor (T7250 if this matters) 2.0 GHz.
3070 MG Ram. Not sure if this will help but it is a Dell M1530.

Are there issues with Vista and Office 2007? Is there any way to speed
things up? This does get quite annoying. Thank you in advance for any advice
or suggestions.
I installed Office 2007 myself. It was a full install.
Thanks again.

Hi Rhonda

Your new Dell probably has Google Desktop and Google Search installed.
Remove them, they are absolute killers with XL2007

Surely, if they are not killers with other software, its is XL007 that is
the killer (culprit?) <G>

Hi Roger,

Okay I thought it worked but apparently it was a tease. I went into programs
and I see nohing else Google. I noticed however my Browser has Google search.
How do I get rid of that? Could this be another cause of the major slowdown
with Excel2007? I have not used any older versions of Excel files. Thank you
in advance.

Maybe true, Bob!!!
However, the fact that I use other software, less that I use Excel, I don't
think I would really be aware if they were running sub-optimally with the
Google products installed.
So, the jury is still out for me<bg>
