I can't find Excel Public Misc in the Newsgroup listings under
msnews.microsoft.com.

I had Misc selected when my computer froze up and had to reboot. Since then
it is gone from my Outlook Express Folders and I can't find it in the
newsgroup listings under Excel.

Any ideas?

Regards,
Howard

Hi Howard

Have you Reset the list in the newsgoup subscriptions list ???

You can also do this if this is not working
Add a new news account with the same settings and download the newsgroup list

Then delete the old one

Try clicking on this link or paste it into the address bar in MSIE.

If you've lived a good life, the OE will open (as the default newsgroup client)
and you'll see it.

There can be at least a couple explanations. You might get more
knowledgable responses by posting an inquiry to
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress.

First, the name of the newsgroup is microsoft.public.excel.misc. So if you
were typing excel.public.misc, you would not find it in the NG list.
(However, if you literally entered excel public misc as separate words, you
should find it in the NG list.)

Second, I, too, occassionally enter "missing" groups from the NG list.
Clicking on Reset List usually remedies the problem. However, if my
suspicion is right and the root cause of the problem is a network
communication error, you might need to click Reset List more than once.
