Excel Problem...lockup

Hello!

This is driving me nuts!!

I was using Excel, like I always do, and it locked up right in th
middle of what I was doing.

Now, I can't even launch Excel. It freezes even before anything reall
gets started. Pressing "CNTRL ALT DEL" starts a series of "Dangerousl
Low Memory Resources" errors.

I've delected Office 2000 and reloaded it. Everything else (WORD
Powerpoint, etc..) works, but Excel can't be launched.

What the heck happended and how do I get out of this mess?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure I'm not the first on
with this problem.

I have had problems with excel before, and though I don't know for sure, I
think it was related to some other software running in the background (and
here at work theres all kinds of crap they have running in the background).
One thing I disabled was some network printer program since I have my own
printer, and also disabled this autobackup program I use.

try going to MSCONFIG, startup, and disable stuff. Since your problem isn't
intermittant it seems it'd be a lot easier to solve than one that on=ly
happens once in awhile.

Also try launching Excel in Safe Mode by entering Excel /S in the Start Run
line. Take a look at Knowledge Base article 211481 XL2000: Startup Switches
for Microsoft Excel 2000
(http://support.microsoft.com/?id=211481) for details on what the /S switch
does. This article is written specifically for Excel 2000, but other
versions should behave similarly.
