Excel Pivot Table Trouble

When working with a pivot table, if I uncheck an item in
the dropdown list, the item disappears completely. The
only way to get it back is to click the "undo" button.

Your assistance is greatly appeciated.
 
If you uncheck an item in the data dropdown list, it's removed from the
pivot table. To get it back, you can drag it in from the field list.

Items from the Row and Column dropdown lists should remain on list
though, even if they're unchecked.
