Excel Pivot Table Template thinks it's linked to external data

When I save a workbook with a pivot table in it as a template, it says that there is external data associated with the workbook. I have not set up the workbook to include any external data so I can only assume that this is an erroneous error message. The workbook will save as a workbook without issue. VB Editor does not show any queries files and I have run MS suggested macros to find the external data. The results define my local "Source Data" as the "External Data" which is not legitimate. Please advise if you know how to resolve this message and eliminate the ghost external data connection.

1. Check menu Edit Links to see if there is anything there.
You can change any to refer to the current workbook.
2. More likely you will find it under Insert/Name/Define. Go throug
the names to see what they refer to and delete as necessary.
3. AFAIK the only other possibilities are chart links
