Close the blank file, check window menu (in Excel) to see if any other
files are open besides the one you intended to open, close them, then
save your file and close Excel.
Thanks David. Closed the blank file and checked Window menu. No other files
open except the one I intended. Problem still persists.
Strange, but this only happens with my company's version of Excel 2002 using
Win XP on a Novell network. I think I'm using Excel 2002 at home as well and
this doesn't happen there.
check your Tools, Options, General
Alternate Startup directory should not show any file, except for
people on a network, and even then it may be questionable.
I know I've had that problem with blank file, It probably was noticed
soon after changing my version of Excel.
