Reporting this problem for someone else in my office.
I've got a guy on Access 97 trying to import an Excel
spreadsheet. No big deal, right? Well, when he clicks on
File - Get External Data - Import, the option for MS Excel
is not on the list of file types. He has DBase IV and V,
Paradox, and a few others, but not MS Excel, not text-
anything.... Those are the ones I would think were
installed by default!
He's on Windows 2000 Pro. We uninstalled Office and
reinstalled it, making sure all the Data Access components
were selected for install.
One thing I noticed is that, when we launch the Office 97
Setup, and go to Add/Remove....the Data Access checkbox is
selected, but it's ghosted out.
I'm totally confused. Someone help me!
