Sometimes when I open excel and get ready to work on a
cell, the mouse freezes on one cell and it appears that
I'm dragging it around when I am not. This only happens
in Excel (no other programs). I have tried uninstalling
and reinstalling the entire Office XP Professional suite
and I have just reformatted my computer. I have no idea
what to do. I am using Excel 2002. Please help!!

Thanks!

Could be a dirty mouse, a dirty mouse does strange things
and can drive you crazy. Remove the rubber ball and clean
the rollers inside the mouse.

It seems to me when I was adjusting my mouse parms I
remember seeing a "lock" option that will allow you to
click, then the mouse locks on the clicked item. The idea
is to make it easier to drag something from one place to
another. Could it be that somehow you've got that option
turned on?? Go into Control Panel -> Mouse and look for
the lock option. If it's got a check mark, uncheck it.
