How do I attach an excel file to a word document without
losing the worksheet values?

You can paste or insert single worksheets into Word documents.

.

Um , copy from Excel, then paste into Word.

or in Word: Insert > Object > From File > [browse for desired Excel file]

There are other variations such as linking objects, Edit > Paste Special.

You can also embed the spreadsheet using Insert, Object
and browsing for the file. Or insert a hyperlink to the
file.
