Excel install

First, I am a "newbie", with a lot of hours trying to
understand these "wonderful and time-saving" PC's. I
started computing several years ago, so I've used all the
OS programs; I'm still in the dark. Currently, I re-
formated my primary HD and am trying to re-install Excel
and Publisher. The install wizard is asking me for
the "product ID"; I can't find it. Does anyone know a
solution?

I think that's the key number that was on the CD - you definitely need that
to install. If you registered the software you can probably contact MS to
get it from them.
