Hey everyone!

I've got a database containing emissions from all the local authorities from within the U.K., totaling to about 485 authorities.

I am getting ready to publish the spreadsheet on my webpage to make it publicaly viewable, and want to know how I could add a search feature at the top of the page in order to be able to allow users to find their relevant authority without having to scroll through every authorities row to find theirs. Is there any way I can add one of these in?

I'm not sure that you can do this to automatically search a spreadsheet in XLS format - however you could make a little note that you should press CTRL+F to load the search box manually.

You may be able to load the spreadsheet in "google docs" and they may have some nifty code for a search function.

The document has already been uploaded to google docs, and has been placed on a page within one of our sites, but is not yet visible to the public. I've tried using the search codes they have within google docs excel templates to get soemthing going but I seem to be fighting a losing battle with that.

I tried adding the coding in, but it isn't searching for anything when I attempt to run the code, or whatever it is. Maybe i'm just doing something wrong. Is there a way to get the code to work, and allow people to plug in their own words to the search feature to find it?
