Excel Fonts

I would appreciate some help with Excel.
I have my laptop with Office 2000, I am not sure what
went wrong but I just can not change Font size or color
at all, everytime I type whatever on a excel sheet, then
attempt to go and change font size, make bold or italic
as well as change color this process just idols
completely. you can see the computer is trying to do
something but the following errors come up:

szAppName:Excel.exe szAppver:9.0.0.8216 szmodName:hungapp
szModver:0.0.0.0 offset:00000000

Itried removing Office completely and installing over, as
well as trying to get the latest updates for Office 2000
and seems not to help at all.

In addition to this, when I go to a Word Document, this
font issue works fine but when i am trying to close that
particular sheet it also hungapp too. I really do not
know what the problem is . Would anyone in this group be
able to help me.

I believe when xl2k came out there were some posts that said changing the way
excel displays the font helps.

Tools|Customize|Options Tab|Uncheck "list font names in their font"

It might work for you.
