Hi

I have 300 excel files. Now i want them to be maintained as database. I have
tried to import them but my first COLUMN A in excel are the headers not the
first ROW.
how do i transfer the data into access. or if there is any other database
that can be used to import the data.

When you are importing your excel files into access if you use the wizard
the second step has a place for you to check First Row Contains Column
Headings...check that and it will use the first row as headers and 2nd as
data...

Read the OP's message again carefully. His headers are in columns, not
rows.

If he has less than 256 rows of data he could possibly transpose the
entries so that the column headings become row headings.

And Access will only accept 255 fields, so if there are more rows than
that, he'd need a different solution anyway.

To transpose the data:
Select all the cells that contain data
Choose Edit>Copy
Switch to a blank worksheet
Select cell A1
Choose Edit>Paste Special
Select Transpose, click OK
