Why does the size of my excel worksheet grow, sometime
double the size. The worksheet goes out to column N and
down to row 750. I can add a few lines and delete
others. When I resave it, the size can grow to as much as
double what I started with?

Are you using colours, border-lines and other formatting beyond the areas
you described? For example if you colour an entire column red rather than
just down to row 750? You could try selecting all of the unused area, then
go Format, Style, and choose Normal with all options ticked to remove any
unwanted cell formatting.

Another way spreadsheets can grow larger is through macros. If your workbook
has macros in, you can try taking them out (paste them into notepad or
similar) save the workbook without them. Then reopen it and put them back
in.
