I have a user running Office 2000 on Windows NT 4.0 with
an important
spreadsheet that they (or I) can't open.
If they double-click on it from Explorer, Excel is opened
but the workbook
doesn't open. (just the grey screen, as if Excel has been
launched on its
own). No error message.
If they launch Excel, then File -> Open the spreadsheet.
It returns to
Excel without opening it. Again no error message.
All other spreadsheets open fine, so it is clearly a
problem with the
spreadsheet, backed up by the fact with same results
opening spreadsheet
from other PC's.
I have done a search on Microsoft and Google, but have not
found anything
helpful.
There is no available backups of this file, and user needs
access to this
spreadsheet.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
