I have two errormessages I do not understand.

1. "Can not access file.xls" I get this message trying to open filea located
on a network drive. I click "OK", try again, get the same message, up to six
times before the file opens normaly. I have the user permissions to open this
file, so that is not the problem. Severel other users on the network also
have permissions to open the files, but I know that I am the only one trying
to access these files, when I get the error. Any suggestions to what can be
the problem?

2. The second error message is as follows. " File is locked for editing by
myself. Open a writeportected version of the file, or rescive a message when
no longer in use" ( this one is translated from Norwegian, not sure if it is
the exact same in english) The file is locked by myself, I do not have an
open copy of the file. ( It is a file located on a network drive, as with
error message 1) I have tried to close excel, and open the file again without
any change.

I have installed all the aviable updates. I have tried to delete all
temporaray files on the local computer without any change.

Any suggestions? I am stuck and need help.... :op

Thnx in advance.

Hi Koksiboks,

I had some experience similar to your problem No. 2. When restarting Excel
after an abnormal ending I couldn't open the previously edited xls file until
closing Excel, having a look at Tasks panel when I found the abnormally ended
Excel task and closing it via the Tasks Panel. After restarting Excel all
worked OK.

No idea on problem No. 1.

Regards,
Stefi
