Excel DSUM problems

I am having problems trying to get a group of numbers to
sum in a list. the criteria i want to use is not
immediately below the field and so I can only get it to
sum the whole list.

Is this a comment such as "it's raining around here"? If so, we can sympathize
but do nothing more. If this is a request for help, there's almost certainly a
formula that will do what you want, but you must provide details, especially the
PRECISE criteria you're trying to use.
 
The Criteria range is an area separate from the actual list, so it is always possible to get the
criterion below the field name in there. See Help for Advanced Filter for more information, or
post back it you don't succeed.
