Excel disappears after inserting a cell.

Scenario:
In a spreadsheet select a few cells in one column (do not
use the first row) and merge them in one block. Anter
some text in this merged cell.

In the cell immediately above this block in the same
column, enter some text and format the cell to be under a
60% angle.

Now right-click on the angled cel, select of the
menu 'Insert' and then from the dialogbox select 'Shift
Cells Down'.

Excel disappears in ablick of an eye, no save is done.

I tried that. On my machine it doesn't 'disappear in the bink of an eye', it
says illegal operation and provides details.

What version XL? Did it on my machine XP Pro and Office XP
No error, did exactly what it was supposed to do
