I am trying to sort data in a column and it sorts some of
the numbers and then appears to sort the second part of
the numbers at the bottom -

1
2
3
4
5
1
2
3
4

The numbers are zip codes and there are zeros in some of
them, I thought maybe the zeros had something to do with
it.

Thanks for your help.

Your values do not have zeros in them so it is difficult to connect the data
with the question. However, my bet is that some of the cells have real
numbers and others have text.

RAP,
As Bernard states, some of your numbers are probably formated as text. I would suggest you use a custom number format for your zip codes. The zip code format might already exist in the Special category.

Select a blank cell on your sheet and COPY. Then select your zip code column and Paste_Special>Operation_Add. This will convert any text into numbers. Then apply the zip code number format.

Good Luck,
