I'm trying to put an Excel Chart into a Powerpoint 2002 (SP-2) presentation.
I never had a problem doing this until I upgraded to 2002 (THANKS BILL
GATES!!!!!!) When I put my Excel data into the Powerpoint chart. The chart
displays in Powerpoint with all the legend data squashed together making it
unreadable. I have tried changing font sizes, and even copying and pasting
the Excel chart and inserting it into PP as a picture. The same thing
happens every time, no matter what I try.

Thanks in advance for any response.

Couple of things Joe;

1) Bill probably had very little to do with writing the code or deciding
what features should be included in PowerPoint 2002.

2) As a group, we tend to think MS and Bill are generally OK.

3) Is you auto formatting turned on or off?

If your auto formatting is on, then PowerPoint may be trying to fit
everything onto the slide and resizing the graph and legend. I would try
turning this feature off to see if it makes a difference in the display
placement and sizing. It is meant to be a good thing and works well for
beginners. Like with any advanced software program, it is set-up for the
beginner to be able to use it 'out of the box' and may need to be customized
to your more advanced needs. You have discovered as an experienced
presenter, auto formatting sometimes gets in the way. Wasn't it nice that
they included the option to turn it off?

Overall, PowerPoint 2002 is a far superior presenting tool than prior
versions. If you believe otherwise, than PowerPoint 2000, 97 and 95 all
still work, even on the newer machines.
