How can I keep my work books open?
When I open a workbook, leave it to go somewhere else (I
leave the book open and on my desktop), when I come back
the book has closed.

Does someone know the answer.

Thanks
Stu

Is someone else using your PC? Lock your office!

Excel does not normally close workbooks in the way you describe. I use Excel
97 and workbooks stay open indefinitely.

Some workbooks may have macros in them to close them automatically if they
are left open for a while. That would have to be specifically coded by
whoever set up the workbook (or the template from which the workbook was
created). The sort of workbook that might have that in would be a shared
workbook that other people might need access to.
