excel 97 and Novell 4.11 - opening twice

I have a problem with Novell Client 4.83 SP1, Win2K and Excel 97. Opening a
document from Novell 4.11 (SP9) with longer than 8.3, i.e.
"Longfilename.xls", it will be opened twice. The second file with
"LONGFILE".XLS". How can i stop this?

Try this method.........

In the shortcut to open Excel enclose the pathname in double quotes.

"C:\your path\to excel\excel.exe"
