I have installed XL 2007 and it was O.K to open files by double clicking on
the file icons on the Desktop but the problem it was taking around 60 seconds
to open. I was searching for a solution for the slow opening files from the
Desktop and I found relative discussion and the advice was to go to the
Control Panel under Folder Options and then File Type Tab and to change
something relates to DDE but after I exit I faced problem in opening Excel
2007 from the Desktop with the below Error Message.
'D:\Documents.xls' could not be found. Check the spelling of the file name,
and verify that file location is correct.
If you are trying to open the file from your most recently used files, make
sure that file has not been renamed, moved, or deleted.
And the above message repeating with the different file name that is not the
same file that I clicked on. What I noticed is that the above message is
reflecting the file that I want to open by each word separately and after I
click on OK the file open.
I feel that something has been changed in the File Type.
