Hi,

I have a xlsm file that has been working smoothly for the last couple of years. Today it started returning the error above with no apparent reason.

Any suggestion?

Thanks

I could be wrong (since I have both older and newer versions of MS devtools
installed), but I'm pretty sure that Excel 2007 uses VBA6, not VBA5. So that
error message (in theory) shouldn't be possible, since you can't use more
than one version of VBA at a time (and should't be able to remove the
reference to VBA6).

*Something* has gone wrong, regardless. The first thing that comes to mind is
a virus, no matter how unlikely you think it may be. Just to be safe, virus
scan that file.

The second thing that comes to mind is that the DLL got moved or deleted, or
perhaps the path environment variable got changed. Search your system for the
file, and if found, put a copy in Windows\System32. (If there's more than one
copy on your system, check the versions, and use the newest one.)

Something that would *probably* work, if you can open Excel and just not the
one workbook, is to create a new workbook and copy all data and code from the
broken workbook to the new one.

Hmm... offhand, I can't think of anything else. After virus scanning, you
could try opening the workbook on a different machine (if one is available).
