How do you copy a chart as a picture in Excel 2007? Equivalent to
shift+edit, Copy Picture in Excel 2003.

The chart copy command is complicated.

With a chart embedded in a worksheet,
You can select either the chart or the range of cells including the
chart. (and use Shift Edit copy).

If you use choose as "shown when printed", and have selected just the
chart, the size of the chart -- but not the size of the fonts will
depend on the margins and orientation of the printed page -- the chart
expands to take up the whole page.

The problem with this is the fonts stay the same size, the chart often
doesn't look like anything like the screen image.

-- this might work best if you are going to paste it into a Word
document with the same margins -- you may want to set the orientation to
portrait.

-- But if you have selected the Chart and a range of cells around the
chart before copying, you get something completely different (closer to
"as shown on screen"), because the size of the printout is determined by
the size of the range of cells.

For pasting in Word, I like to select the "as shown on screen" options
and bitmap.

The problem with this is that the font size in the chart often does not
match the same font sizes in the document.

You can address this somewhat by not having a title on the chart,
pasting it into Word as a two-row table and using one of the rows for
the title.
