I recently installed Excel 2007. Now I am not able to open any excel
file directly by double clicking. It only opens the app but not the
actual worksheet. From the app, I have to click on "open" and then
find the file to open it.

I verified that the "Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data
Exchange" option is unchecked.

Any help?
Thanks.

What happens when you try double clicking on the file in windows explorer?

If excel opens and you don't see the workbook, then you may be suffering from a
common problem that lots of people have complained about. The workbook is open,
just not visible.

One way to see it is to click on the Office button and start to open another
workbook, but then just dismiss the dialog. You may see your workbook open
after this. (Ctrl-O, then escape may work???)

Currently, there isn't a fix--just workarounds.

Same problem, double clicking on the file in windows explorer does
not show the worksheet either.
You are right, the worksheet is open but not visible. Ctrl-O, then
escape makes it visible.

I guess I will need to wait for the fix!
Thanks Dave.
