I just have Excel opened, I tried with Word, and it works like the way I
want it to, I can open two Word doc with two separate process. I am running
Windows 2000, is this a setting in the OS or Excel itself. Thanks again for
the reply.

I'm confused. Do you really want two instances of excel or do you want one
instance and multiple icons on the taskbar?

If you want multiple instances of excel:
Try Tools|Options|General|Ignore other applications (check it)

If you want multiple icons (windows) in one instance of excel, then do that
stuff Peo recommended.
