The other day, I couldn't end a non-responding IE via. Task Manager, so I had
to turn off the computer hard way by pressing the switch. After I turned on
the computer again, it shows drive C error and scanned the computer, and it
went through.
But after that, Excel couldn't start any more. The message said, "Microsoft
Excel for Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience."
I tried to reboot the computer, and it didn't help. I tried to do system
restore, but it couldn't be done. I also tried to uninstall the MS Office
and reinstalled it, but still the same error message. I even tried to run
Excel from the installation disk, but still no luck and same message. In the
mean time, other office applications such as Word and PowerPoint worked
perfectly fine.
I have MS Office 2000 Professional and Windows XP Version 5.1 Media Center
Edition.
Any one can help me? Thanks in advance.
