Can an Exabyte Eagle TR-3 tape backup drive work with Windows XP? Thanks.
Chris

If you're thinking about that $5 one on eBay, then I guess it's too late to
email Exabyte. You could always phone them and see if their NT4 driver works
under XP.

No. In my case I did a clean install of Windows XP on my 5 year old
computer that had Windows ME. I have had the Exabyte tape backup for years
and used it successfully on other computers with Windows 3.1, 95, 98, and
ME. I downloaded an NT driver from Exabyte but do not get any results from
the tape drive. Although the tape drive is on the floppy ribbon and Windows
XP sees my A drive floppy OK, it does not seem to see that the tape drive
exists. The tape backup has been great for storing financial and tax
records in my safety deposit box, so I would like to continue to use it for
that purpose.
