Hello Thomas,

The EWF Registry Filter fix is only required when you're using EWF to
protect the boot partition on the XPe device and using any of the following
features:

1. The XPe device is joined to a domain.
2. The XPe device is used as a terminal services client connecting to a
terminal server set up with per-device CALs.

The above features require persisting some data on the boot partition and
with EWF in the picture it won't causing issues with these features.

If this is applicable to you, please open a support incident with MS to
obtain the Registry Filter fix at no charge.
