I have an Hp T5710 that I have set up and ready to create an image. After an
unsuccessful attempt, now when I reboot, the EWF lock icon is yellow with a
red X over it. Putting the mouse over it, it reads 'Error getting EWF
status!' Double clicking on EWF Comfiguration in Control Panel brings up
this message:
RUNDLL
An exception occurred while trying to run "shell32.dll, Control_RunDLL
"C:\WINDOWS\System32\ewfcpl.cpl",EWF Configuration
At a command prompt running ewfmgr c: bring this:
Failed getting protected volume configuration with error 1.
Incorrect function.

Hope somebody can help

joel,

ewfcpl? This is new to me. Not part of Microsoft EWF implementation. I guess something that HP created.

What did you mean by "unsuccessful attempt"? What exactly happened?
Make sure to delete EWF Config partition (etprep /delete or diskpart) before next attempt.
