Hello!

I have to set up HORM in a configuration to 40GB hard disk with one
partition. The partition is protected with EWF. how can I write or update
data in this partition and the hibernation file updated with these changes,
that is, when there is a power loss and the system reboots I want all the
changes and writed data are in the hibernation file that the system uses to
reboot.
Which is the best way to configure HORM in this scenario?
I read that EWF and hibernation is interesting for protect the system of
corruption, that is true??.

Best regards

Then if I want to update changes in the HD and protect system for corrupt,
which is the best method to deploy??

sand,

The deployment would depends on what type of "updating" software you've got in your image. DUA, SMS, SUS, etc.?

In either case what you want to do is to move to FP2007 if you still didn't. EWFMGR (and EWF API) on FP2007 supports a couple more
commands specifically for HORM targets (activate, deactive HORM): http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa940935.aspx

Read here how you configure and use DUA and EWF together on older systems:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa459169.aspx

I have FP2007 but my problem is that I don't want to restart my system when I
update it. Maybe, it's interesting use FBWF and protect all the volume except
the files and directories that I know I want to update. Cause if I use EWF I
have to restart my system each time I want update data ( and this is very
often ).
I think that create a new volume and no proctect it with EWF and HORM by
dismounting it, is other posibility but more dificult that use FBWF. However,
If I use FBWF I don't have HORM. And I don't know if I protect the system for
corruption using FBWF only.

Very thanks
