All devices previously plugged in and working have ceased being recognized by
Windows Vista x64.
What is the solution so that I won't have to point to "driverstore"
everytime I unplug a usb device that was functioning and plug it in again
SYMPTOMS of PROBLEM:
Whenever a usb device is plugged in, a prompt is displayed allowing 3 choices:
-Locate and install driver software (recommended)
-Ask me again later
-or Don't show message again
After selecting Locate and install, I eventually have to point it to
%root%/windows/system32/driverstore
This method is:
-a waste of my time
-never happened before the last few days
-installs generic/wrong drivers
This problem first appeared after my Corsair 4 gb flash drive was recognized
as an "embedded hub" and the drivers couldn't be found.
