Anyone have any experience with an old Everex Notebook/Laptop.

I have one where someone has put in a BIOS password. Obviously I need
to get to the BIOS battery, but I'll be damned if I can the thing open
to find it!

I've taken all the screws (I can see) out of the bottom, but something
seems to be holding it together near the center. I've taken the
keyboard off on top, and still can't find any screws I've missed.

Did a web search and didn't find much.

Anybody????

Thanks

PS: It's an Everex "4500 Series"

I resisted 'till I couldn't take it anymore.

(sigh) Address altered against Spam.

Replace the -at- and put the "spring-mind" in the correct order

Can't you just change the BIOS password?

Not without knowing what the old one is...

Somewhere in your cmos set up there must be a place to change the password
even if you dont know it. Maby I am wrong but I think I did that before.

Nope! What's the point of a password then?

You CAN remove the CMOS battery for a while to lose ALL of the settings
(including the password) though.

Make sure your power is off and that the power pack is removed, on the
back of your everex there is a small cover (1"x1", that can be removed
my inserting a flat head screw driver under it, you will find your
bios chip, CAREFULLY pry it out by inserting a sharp pointed object
under it on the corners that have a pry point, leave it out for just a
secound or two, make sure your power is still off and POWER pack
removed. then resert bios by pushing down evenly on the top (DO NOT
touch the metal contact, that should do it
