Have you ever owned an ugly one? Here are 50 of the "ugliest cars" according to MSN news - although I cannot agree with some of their choices at all. See what you think. The car below got one of my "ugly votes" though

Yeah some pug ugly motors there..

But the Rolls Royce is never ugly and the Hyundai coupe isn't an ugly car either..

Some of them don't look too bad, but that one you posted a pic of is minging

I really don't like the look of the Fiat Multipla though, how it ever made it to production I just don't know :p

Urmas, nothing wrong with owning a SAAB.:thumb:
Well built & last for years, in fact my Dad once had a crash in one.
If he had been driving any other make he would probably have been seriously injured.

Sold/owned quite a few of those models:D

This is a quality car:lol:

I've had quite a few ugly cars.

Talking of which, this site's been around for years, I'd forgotten about it:

Ugly Car Co UK

I'll post some pix of my past modes of transportation.

Urmas, I love them Saabs, great looking cars, imo ;)

itsme, I remember those Skodas, the butt of a thousand jokes.

But they seem to have had the last laugh though...

Yes since VW took them over they have become recognised as a world class family vehicle:nod:

homeland Fordness

Em, i didn't think I needed a picture, but I'll put one up if you need it:

a dirt beige 2-speed auto 4 door Ford Tempo.

What really ****es me off, is that I'm starting to see these again, in painfully better condition than my yummy 1989 Celica GT

Dang, can't find any pix, will have to search my archive but I passed my test in a

Ford Anglia 105E (the Harry Potter car) 3 weeks after my 17th birthday.

My first car was a Ford Prefect E439A

And I've owned:

A Citroen 2CV

A Citroen DS

A Citroen BX

And best of all: A Citroen Ami 8 Estate.

And I don't know if these qualify but have also owned:

VW Type 2 Transporter van

Ford Anglia E494A 1951

Two VW Beetles.

I've always been fond of cranky vehicles and I don't think I've ever owned owned a fast car.

Except, perhaps, my current 1984 Merc 280SE.

O dear, I don't think classic Beetles are ugly at all (the new ones are).
Anglias are cute!
And some of those old Citroens are weird enough to skip ugly and go straight to kewwwwwwwl.

Actually, I personally don't consider any of those vehicles ugly, I loved 'em to bits :D

(except, in retrospect, maybe the BX)

And the Beetle is a style icon for sure.

Oh lucky man Flopps - I've always liked the style of the Citroen DS. I seem to recall that it was the car that featured in a "tense thriller" I once read, called "Midnight Plus One" by Gavin Lyall.

There were quite a few cars in the "ugly lists" that didn't deserve to be there - but I suppose even with cars, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

I don't know whether anyone else would agree, but cars had a bit more character when they came in different shapes and sizes, whereas these days, they are all mostly round-ish. One tends to look very much like another.

The Citroen DS was a beauty of a car, I used to stop and admire one back in the 70's outside our old sweet shop when I was a kid, I loved its flowing lines but strangely all my other friends used to hate it and I always wondered if I was a little odd in my tastes because of this..

Looking back now I know it was just part of my individuality and advanced style acumen.. Well thats what I call it anyway...:D

The DS was a brilliant car, I loved it. Real smooth ride with bags of character.

I went to the '83 Glastonbury Festival in that car.

Didn't actually have it for long though, about six months.

Two minor repairs in that time cost a lot of money, parts had to be imported from France, so I was kinda put off it by the running costs.

In two places at once... Citroen DS

After last week's "ugly" cars, MSN has now brought us the top 50 "most beautiful" car list.... and guess what, the Citroen DS (one of last week's "uglies") is now on the list of "beauties" I guess they just couldn't make up their minds. But I think they've placed her in the right category this time :D
