Events won't maximize

Had a toolbar button showing that 6 events needed to be viewed. However,
the program would not maximize when pressed and a right-click only showed
Minimize and Close. Working with Outlook 2003; has this been identifed
before? What would possibly cause this?

No. It is just the button that was added when the reminders popped up. The
individual didn't click on it until he had six separate reminders.
