event viewer

someone please tell me why when I turn on the event viewer right after I turn
on my computer one of the things under system says , the remote access
manager has been sent a start control. then it says the remote access manager
service has entered the start control. I believe my computer has been put
into remote vulnerable status. The person who could have done this has had
access to my computer.. when I have tried to access this info, I am told that
the server is not turned on that I am trying to see where this start up has
been sent to. I believe that my computer has been put on a server unlike my
own computer. this person set up my computer and probably knows my network
card and mac number. I cant seem to stop this remote access to my computer.
even if i disable remote access my computer still sends this to somewhere .
where is what i want to know. and how can I determine if there is acces to my
comp from another server. I am quite new to computers so if any one is kind
enough to respond, keep in mind that I am not privy to computer lingo at all.
I believe that this person has made my computer the remote computer to her
server or computer. does this make sense, and is it possible knowing that she
has had unlimited access to my comp in the past, including the fact that she
set it up. and she ,I was told , has my network card number or mac number.
this is what i have been told by my computer manufacture and by comcast .
please help me to determine. If this is the case is there a way for her
toaccess my email, andeven worse my passwords. it seems that every thing
under my passwords have been compramized. thanks....harry

As suggested, if the person is not trusted, change.
Now what you can do is either reinstall the system (bad idea but would
really get rid of the problem)
Note that services are installed by default in windows. You can just
disable the service as instructed below...
Use your firewall to observe what is going in/out and check if there is
really a transfer of data going on.
If it is:
Your firewall will tell you the ending IP.
Establish a firewall rule that block all traffic with this IP.
If you have administrator priviledge, go to the administrator tools, select
services and after stopping the remote access service, disable it.
