event viewer system file corupt

When i look at my system errors in my event viewer it says the file is
corupt i had a problem with my computer it wouldnt close any programes or
shut down so i wanted to see what the problem might have been in the event
viewer i have started a new file but it wont show previous problems, am quite
new to computing so nothing to technical

You will need to Delete the corrupt Event File which corrupted and then Run
disk clean up and Check Disk and Reboot your machine then see if any error(s)
is logged into the Event Viewer, also you can Stop the service in the
services control panel then Enable it again before Rebooting your System!.
