I have the following problem on both of my machines running
windows xp pro

In the event viewer I find that I have an APPLICATION POPUP error
with a code 26. On machine one it does not slow the boot time any
however on machine two it hangs for two minutes on boot at this point.
I go to the help and support and it tell my I don't have the proper
privileges or the files is corrupt.
It refers to a NTDLL.DLL
I have on my machines the following.
c\windows\system 32\ntdll.dll size 654336 bytes DTD 5/1/2003
version 5.5.2600.1217
This is also in c\windows\system 32\dllcache
In c:\windows service pack files\i386 the file size is 668672
In c\windows\last good\system 32 the file size is 668672
In c\windows\$uninstall\q8515021$ the file size is 668672

My question what are we talking about and more importantly
what to do to correct this. I have no idea what driver they
are talking about in help an support.

Try going to technet at microsoft.com,search,type:dll erro
Look for the on-line dll event utility, type in the dll at the utility, then relate
topics specific to that dll or event come up with info.

I went there last night and all it does that I can see is point me to
another copy of Q815201. That did nothing for the code 26 error I am
getting. It appears it is caused by a driver that will not load, but
which one is the question as every thing I have seems to work OK
